Peanut Butter

Jacob LOVES peanut butter. He was having snack this afternoon of apples and peanut butter and got really "involved" with the peanut butter. By the time he was finished with his snack, he was covered in peanut butter but super happy! Such a happy baby. I have attempted to upload a video of him smacking and telling me "yummmm" - however, the computer is taking way to long! Just know it is precious! :)

Just a Swingin'

We have a new swingset in the back yard. Daddy put it together last weekend and we have enjoyed playing on it every afternoon.

Officially 18 Months Old

9/27/10 Jacob Fischer is officially 18 months old! He weighs 26.6 lbs. and is 33 inches tall. He got to stand up on the scales at the doctor's office this visit, so no more sitting on the baby scale. All is healthy, happy, and developmentally appropriate - to God be the Glory!!

The New Ride

Jake got his first car! He loves to drive it in the driveway and around the 'hood. He makes little engine noises and waves at people from the window. I am trying to teach him how to stop at the stop sign and how to signal for turning.

Jake's First Game (kind of)

Jake made it to the home opener for the West Memphis Blue Devils, but we left at half-time. Just too much to do for one little guy at a busy ballgame. His first real game was Friday night in West Memphis. We played Fort Smith Southside. Grandma was on hand to take care of Jake and prepared to pack him up when he got tired. But he surprised us all and made it through the entire game!! He got to go on the field after the game and see his Daddy. He tried to pick up a helmet and loved running in the grass. We lost the game, but it sure was fun to watch him clap, dance, and wave during the game!

Nicholas Patton plays Football!

Nicholas has a new game...FOOTBALL! He is playing for Westside Middle School and is enjoying it. He is practicing with the defense and wears number 55. They have only had one game (the first game was called due to bad weather), but he is learning all about football Westside-style. Here are a few pictures from his first "practice game".

Memphis Fan Day

The Work Family visited The University of Memphis for Tigers Fan Day. It was a hot afternoon, but we had a lot of fun. Jake has grown so much since last year. Next year, he will take on the big blow up slide! He was a little scared of the big blow-up tiger, but was very interested in the real tiger. Paulo is Jake's favorite player. He even got to help the players sign autographs.

Playing Outside

Jacob loves outside play time. We spend at least an hour every night outside playing. He loves to play in the sprinkler, pool, use sidewalk chalk, and go for walks. Michael and I both love to take him to the Elementary School to play on their playground. A favorite there is the steering wheel. He really drives well!

Lord of the Swine - Memphis in May Champions

This is a delayed post (as most of mine are). The Lord of the Swine BBQ team won the Memphis in May Cooking Competition this year! Congrats! There was an article in our local paper and we made the news. Scott is one proud papa, and Jen is enjoying dusting that huge trophy. Jacob got to enjoy the ribs this year; he likes BBQ thank goodness. Monetary donations are being accepted for next year's contest :)

Summer is Almost Over

The Work family's summer vacation is almost over. It has been a busy and exciting summer, too. Michael and Zack (with help from Jacob) have ripped out carpets and laid new flooring in the house. It looks awesome and is finished!!

Here Jacob is helping select the flooring at Lumber Liquidators. This was a much nicer shopping trip than the paint store.

Jacob has discovered that he enjoys sweeping. He is very helpful with clean-up efforts.

Michael Work's word to the wise "Square rooms are easy - not so square rooms are not, and hallways really stink!"

Just an Update!

Been a bit. Jake is growing by leaps and bounds. We are having a great and super busy summer! Jake is a blessing everyday to our lives (even when he has a melt down in Sherwin Williams). Thank you Lord for your grace and sharing the joy of a child with us.
Jake loves the zoo. He really looks at and talks about the animals. He is enjoyings swimming in his little pool and splashes. He even tries to swim under water!
